Halogen-free power cable – safety and reliability of installation

This power cable, manufactured using XLPE/HFFR technology, is a solution for installations requiring increased fire safety. Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a cross-section of 2.5 mm² and consists of two copper conductors, insulated with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE). These conductors are twisted in layers (in multi-core cables) and protected with a common sheath and polymeric filling. The outer coating is made of a thermoplastic polyolefin mixture of type HM4, which is halogen-free – meaning that in the event of a fire, it does not release toxic corrosive gases or smoke. This makes the cable meet the stringent requirements for fire safety in places with a high concentration of people.

Additionally, this cable is resistant to radiation up to 100 x 10⁶ cJ/kg (100 Mrad) and is characterized by minimal fire propagation. The materials used in production do not contain silicone or cadmium, which affects its durability and has no impact on painting processes. The permissible operating temperature of the conductor is up to 90°C, and the rated voltage U/U0 is 600/1000 kV. The minimum bending radius of the cable is 12x its outer diameter for multi-core cables and 15x for single-core cables.
