Flexible cable for EX zones – reliability and safety in harsh conditions
This blue, shielded OZ-BL-CY 18x1.5 cable is a solution dedicated to use in areas at risk of explosion. The cable is designed for flexibility and resistance to external factors, making it an ideal choice for both professional installers and end-users requiring a high level of safety. The cable construction provides effective protection against electromagnetic interference (EMC) thanks to the shielding braid of tinned copper wires.
Construction and properties – the key to long-term operation
The cable consists of 18 multi-strand flexible copper conductors class 5, which guarantees its flexibility and resistance to repeated bending. Each core is insulated with PVC type Z 7225, and the cores are twisted in layers for optimal pitch. Additionally, the cable has a winding of plastic foil and the aforementioned shielding braid. The whole is surrounded by a durable PVC coating (type TM2) in blue (RAL 5015). It should be noted that the materials used in production are silicone and cadmium free, which affects its versatility and possibility of use in various environments.
Application and compliance with standards – certainty of operation
The OZ-BL-CY cable is intended for intrinsically safe installations according to DIN VDE 0285-525-2-51 / DIN EN 50525-2-51 in areas at risk of explosion (according to DIN VDE 0165-1 / DIN EN 60079-14 / IEC 60079-14, Section 16.2.2). It will work as a flexible control and measuring cable in control and measurement technology, especially in ungrounded installations with a separate electrical circuit. It is not intended for laying in the ground. The cable has a VDE-Reg.-No. 7032 certificate and meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking). The permissible operating temperature range is from -40°C to +80°C (stationary) and from -10°C to +80°C (flexible).
