Flat cable for industrial and other applications
This flat cable with PVC insulation is a versatile solution for a wide range of applications, from conveyor systems and lifts to industrial machinery. The cable's construction provides flexibility and ease of installation, while resistance to external factors guarantees long-lasting and reliable operation. The cable complies with EN 50214 and DIN VDE 0283-2 standards, confirming its high quality and safety.
Construction and properties
The cable consists of multi-strand copper conductors, insulated with PVC. The conductors are twisted and arranged in parallel, providing flexibility and ease of routing in tight spaces. The outer sheath made of PVC protects the cable from mechanical damage and the effects of weathering. Additionally, the cable is characterized by high resistance to oils and chemicals, making it an ideal choice for harsh working conditions. The use of a protective conductor (G) increases safety.
This cable is distinguished by its exceptional flexibility, allowing it to be laid in places with limited access. Its flat construction minimizes space usage, which is particularly important in applications where every centimeter counts. Low bending radii facilitate installation even in the most complex systems. Tests confirm its self-extinguishing properties and resistance to flame propagation – it meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1-2.
Applications and installation
This cable is primarily used in conveyor systems, lifts, cranes and in the machinery industry. It will also be useful wherever a flexible and damage-resistant electrical installation is required.
When installing flat cables, remember a few important rules: reels with cable should be transported in an upright position with a protective collar. When unwinding the cable, it is recommended to start with the smaller cross-section, laying it at the bottom, and then gradually adding larger cross-sections – this ensures the stability of the system. It is also important to ensure a symmetrical distribution of load when laying multi-core cables with a small cross-section (below 2.5 mm²), taking into account the potential reduction in mechanical strength (recommended to add 10% to the parameters).
