Flat shielded cable – reliability and flexibility in every application
This flat, shielded PVC cable is an ideal solution for demanding industrial applications and installations where both flexibility and protection against interference are important. The cable is designed to provide safe and efficient power transmission in conveyor systems, lifts, cranes, and in the machinery industry. The braided screen construction minimizes the risk of electromagnetic interference, guaranteeing stable device operation.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction based on twisted copper conductors, insulated with special PVC. Shielding with copper wires provides a high level of protection against interference. The outer jacket made of PVC guarantees resistance to oils and mechanical factors. The cable is tested for self-extinguishing and flame-retardant properties (DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2, IEC 60332-1), which increases safety of use. Flexible PVC insulation allows operation in a wide temperature range – from -5°C to +70°C (flexible) and from -40°C to +80°C (stationary). The rated voltage U0/U is 300/500 V, and the test voltage is 3000 V. The minimum bending radius is 15 times the cable thickness, which facilitates installation even in tight spaces.
Application and installation
This cable is widely used in conveyor systems, lifts, cranes, and in the machinery industry. Thanks to its construction, it is particularly recommended where high flexibility and resistance to external factors are required. When transporting cable reels, remember to equip them with a collar and store them in an upright position. Cable unwinding should be done gradually, starting with the smaller cross-section and laying it on the surface, building up layer by layer – the largest cross-section should be on top. It is also important to ensure symmetrical load distribution during installation. For cables with a small cross-section (below 2.5 mm²) it is recommended to allow an additional safety margin (10%) in strength calculations. Bilateral contact of the copper braid with the clamps (e.g. cable glands) optimizes electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). The product meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE).
