Data transmission cable RE-2Y(ST)Yv – reliability and protection in control systems

This shielded PE/PVC cable RE-2Y(ST)Yv is a solid solution for transmitting digital data and in control systems. The construction of polyethylene (PE) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) ensures durability and resistance to external conditions, allowing installation both indoors and outdoors, as well as underground. The cable is particularly useful in damp and wet rooms.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a construction of 8x2x1.3 mm², which means 16 working conductors twisted in 8 pairs. Each pair is shielded with foil, minimizing electromagnetic interference and ensuring a stable signal. An additional common shield with foil increases protection against interference. The conductors are made of stranded copper, which ensures flexibility and facilitates installation. The conductor insulation is made of polyethylene (PE), and the outer jacket of PVC guarantees mechanical and chemical resistance.

The cable has a fire reaction class of Eca, which means it meets European fire safety standards. The permissible operating temperature range is -40°C to +70°C (stationary) and -5°C to +50°C during installation, allowing it to be used in a wide range of environmental conditions. The operating voltage is 300V – please note that it is not suitable for high-current and power supply installations.
