Control and power cable – reliability in extreme conditions
This shielded control and power cable, made of silicone, is designed to operate in demanding industrial environments and applications where standard cables fail. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to high and low temperatures, making it an ideal solution where traditional cabling does not meet expectations. This cable is particularly recommended for use in power plants, foundries, steelworks, shipbuilding industry, and cement plants.
Construction and properties
The SiHF-C-Si 4G0.75 mm² cable stands out with its advanced construction ensuring high reliability and safety. It consists of copper stranded conductors with a cross-section of 0.75 mm², insulated with silicone and twisted into a braid. An additional screen made of copper wires minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMC), guaranteeing stable signal transmission. The whole is wrapped in a durable, weather-resistant silicone coating in brick red color. The conductors are identified with colors according to DIN VDE 0293-308 standard, which facilitates installation and servicing.
Applications and benefits
This cable finds wide application in wiring high-power heating devices, lighting projectors, and everywhere where resistance to extreme temperatures is required – from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C). Thanks to its properties, it ensures safe and reliable operation of devices even in the most demanding conditions. Additionally:
- Halogen-free: meets the standards IEC 60332-1-2 and DIN VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-2 / IEC 60754-2, which increases fire safety.
- Chemical resistance: exhibits resistance to mineral oils, vegetable and animal fats, alcohols and many other chemicals.
- Flexibility: construction with flexible class 5 conductors ensures easy installation and cable routing.
- Shielding: Copper braid effectively reduces electromagnetic interference, ensuring stable signal transmission. For optimal electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), it is recommended to ensure contact of the braid with the terminals on both sides, e.g. via cable glands.
- Wide temperature range: the ability to operate in a temperature range from -60°C to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C) makes this cable ideal for industrial applications.
