Universal cable for many applications

This single-core PVC cable, compliant with a range of European and North American standards (UL/CSA), is a versatile solution for both professional installers and end-users. This cable is used for internal wiring of electrical devices, distribution boards and machine tools. Its construction and approvals make it an economical choice, especially for large projects requiring many different types of cables.

Construction and properties

The cable is made of multi-strand copper wire class 5, providing flexibility and ease of installation. PVC insulation type TI3 guarantees good mechanical and chemical resistance. The use of special PVC also ensures the absence of silicone, cadmium and substances hindering painting – which is important in many industrial applications. The cable is characterized by a rated voltage of U0/U 600/500 V (up to 1 mm²) and a test voltage of up to 6 kV (≥ 0.75 mm²). Flexible operation is possible in the temperature range from +5°C to +90°C, and stationary from -40°C to +90°C. Additionally, it has UL (AWM) approvals up to +105°C and CSA (TEW) up to +105°C.

Compliance with standards and scope of applications

The cable meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0285-525-2-31/DIN EN 50525-2-31, UL-Std.1063/UL-Style 10269 (and 1015) and CSA-TEW and CSA-AWM I A/B. It also has HAR, UL-AWM, UL-MTW, CSA-AWM and CSA-Equipment-wire approvals. This simplifies the bill of materials and reduces storage costs. The cable has passed flame propagation tests according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2/DIN EN 60332-1-2/IEC 60332-1-2 and UL VW-1 and CSA FT1. The minimum bending radius depends on the cable diameter – for cables with a diameter up to 8 mm it is 4xØ cable, above 8 mm – respectively 5xØ or 6xØ cable. Available colors include solid (including violet) and two-color combinations.
