Installation cables UL/CSA – reliability and safety
This single-core PVC cable, designated as HELUKABEL® SINGLE CORE UL Style 1015, is a proven choice for a wide range of applications in electrical installations. The cable is designed and manufactured in accordance with the stringent standards of UL (Underwriters Laboratories) and CSA (Canadian Standards Association), which guarantees its high quality and reliability. This is particularly important in applications requiring certification and compliance with regulations.
This cable is characterized by a flexible stranded copper construction, which facilitates its installation and routing in tight spaces. PVC insulation provides good resistance to external factors such as moisture, oils and solvents. The cable is designed to operate at temperatures from -5°C to +105°C (flexible) and -40°C to +105°C (stationary), making it a versatile solution for various environmental conditions. A rated voltage of 600V ensures safe use in installations of varying power.
Application and benefits
This cable is primarily used for internal wiring of control cabinets, electrical devices and machines. It will work well both in industry and in residential or commercial construction. It can be used as a connecting cable, connection to motors and transformers, and in insulated flexible conduits. UL AWM Style 1015/MTW and CSA-AWM/TEW approvals confirm its suitability for applications requiring high quality and safety.
- Versatility: Suitable for a wide range of applications – from control cabinets to household appliances.
- Safety: UL and CSA certifications guarantee compliance with safety standards.
- Flexibility: Stranded copper construction makes installation and routing easier.
- Resistance: PVC insulation protects against external factors.
- Durability: High-quality materials ensure a long service life.
- Appropriate cross-section: Wire cross-section of 3.32 mm² (AWG 12) provides adequate current carrying capacity for many applications.
- Wide operating temperature range: Possibility of use in various environmental conditions (-5°C to +105°C flexible, -40°C to +105°C stationary).
Construction and technical parameters
The cable consists of tinned stranded copper wire, which increases its corrosion resistance, and PVC insulation providing mechanical and electrical protection. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 4.2 mm, which facilitates its routing in tight spaces. The rated voltage is 600V, and the test voltage is dependent on the wire cross-section (see manufacturer's technical documentation). The minimum bending radius for flexible cables is 10x the outer diameter, and for stationary cables 5x the outer diameter – this should be taken into account during installation to avoid mechanical damage to the conductive core. The cable is available in black color, which facilitates the identification of individual cores in the electrical installation.
