Telecommunication cable for local networks and data transmission
This cable is designed for use in telecommunication networks, both indoors and outdoors. It is suitable for local installations, connecting telecommunication workstations, and as a connecting cable in industrial installations. The construction with a moisture barrier and an outer PE jacket ensures reliability even in harsh conditions. The ability to lay it in the ground, cable ducts, and pipelines makes it a versatile solution for a wide range of applications.
Construction and properties
The cable consists of solid copper conductors insulated with polyethylene (PE). The conductors are twisted in quads, then bundled into layers. The inside of the cable is filled with gel, which protects against moisture and corrosion. Additionally, the cable has an aluminum tape with a plastic coating, which acts as a moisture barrier and provides longitudinal and transverse watertightness. The outer jacket made of PE is resistant to UV radiation. The conductors are identified by colored rings on the quad bundles – this facilitates the identification of individual wires during installation.
Technical parameters and application
This cable meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0816. It is designed to operate in a temperature range from -20°C to +50°C (flexible) and up to +70°C (stationary). The operating voltage for conductors with a diameter of 0.6 mm and 0.8 mm is 225 V. The loop resistance of the conductor is a maximum of 130 Ω/km for conductors with a diameter of 0.6 mm and 73.2 Ω/km for conductors with a diameter of 0.8 mm. The minimum bending radius is approximately 10 times the cable diameter. The cable is characterized by high resistance to UV radiation and good electrical insulation (insulation resistance min. 1.5 GOhm x km). The cable construction with a moisture barrier makes it suitable for use in humid environments and directly in the ground.
