Universal control cable for demanding applications
This black, shielded cable UL style 2464 is a reliable solution for applications requiring flexibility and resistance to external factors. Made from high-quality materials, this cable is perfect for both industrial installations and control applications. The copper wire braid provides effective protection against electromagnetic interference (EMC), which is crucial in modern automation systems.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction, ensuring long-lasting and trouble-free operation. It is made of stranded copper wire, which guarantees high flexibility and resistance to material fatigue during repeated bending. PVC insulation class 43 provides good electrical insulation and abrasion resistance. The strands are twisted in parallel and separated by foil for additional protection. A copper wire braid, covering approximately 85% of the surface, effectively shields the cable against interference. The outer jacket, also made of PVC, provides mechanical protection and resistance to oils, solvents, acids and alkalis.
The cable meets UL standards and has a CE certificate confirming compliance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU. The materials used in production are silicone-free, cadmium-free and free from substances hindering painting. It has flame retardancy according to UL VW-1 and CSA FT1 standards.
Technical parameters and application
The cable has a nominal conductor cross-section of 0.82 mm² (AWG 18) and is designed to operate at a rated voltage of 300V. It can be operated in a temperature range of -20°C to +80°C (stationary) and -10°C to +80°C (flexible). The approximate outer diameter of the cable is 6.9 mm. It is ideal as a flexible connection, connecting cable, control cable and signal and measuring line in machine tools, conveyor belts, air conditioning systems and foundries and steelworks. Thanks to the shielding, it is particularly recommended in applications requiring electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). For optimal EMC function, it is recommended to use large round terminals with copper braid at both ends of the cable.
