Effective insulation for LB31 plate heat exchangers

APFI insulation designed for LB31 series plate heat exchangers, ranging from 21 to 40 plates, is a key element improving energy efficiency and protecting the installation. Made of polyurethane foam with high insulation properties, covered with an aluminum sheet, it minimizes heat loss and protects against freezing. This solution is used in both heating and cooling installations.

Application and benefits

This insulation not only reduces energy losses but also protects the device from external conditions. It protects the surroundings from heating up during heat exchanger operation and minimizes the risk of accidental burns. In the case of cooling heat exchangers, cold insulation prevents condensation of water vapor on the device surface, which is particularly important in humid environments. The construction with two connected parts facilitates assembly and disassembly, allowing access to the heat exchanger if servicing is required.

Construction and materials

APFI insulation consists of polyurethane foam with a density of 35±10% kg/m3 and a thermal conductivity of 0.026 W/mK. This foam is surrounded by an aluminum sheet, which provides additional mechanical protection and corrosion resistance. Galvanized steel closures guarantee a stable connection of both parts of the insulation. The materials used in production are characterized by a high fire resistance class (F according to PN-EN ISO 11925; B3 according to DIN 4102), which increases safety of use. The insulation is adapted to operate at temperatures up to +135°C.
