Network choke – power protection and stabilization

The INS 3-60-400 network choke is a three-phase element that limits inrush currents when electrical devices are switched on. Its task is to protect the electrical installation from the negative effects of voltage surges and disturbances, as well as to stabilize the supply voltage. This is particularly important for devices with high power consumption, such as motors, transformers or power supplies.

This choke is designed to operate in 3-phase networks with a voltage of 400V and a power of up to 30 kW. Using a network choke translates into extending the life of connected devices and increasing the reliability of the entire power system.

Construction and application

The INS 3-60-400 choke is characterized by a solid construction based on a core made of high-quality materials. The core is vacuum-impregnated with class H varnish, which ensures its durability and resistance to high temperatures (up to 155°C). The whole is enclosed in a housing providing adequate insulation (class F) and protection against external factors.

The dimensions of the choke have been selected to ensure easy mounting in standard electrical switchboards – its height is 185 mm, width 96 mm and depth 74 mm. Mounting is done using angle brackets (not included). The weight of the choke is approximately 13.2 kg, which should be taken into account when planning the installation. The choke meets the standards EN/IEC 61558-2-20 and EN/IEC 60076-6 and withstands a voltage test of 3 kV for one minute. The degree of protection IP00 means no protection against contact or the ingress of solids and liquids – therefore, the choke should be mounted in a dry and well-ventilated place.
