Microduct for guiding and protecting optical fibers – reliability and durability of installation

FiberGuard FGG microduct is a solution dedicated to the construction and protection of fiber optic networks. Made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), it is characterized by flexibility and resistance to external conditions, making it ideal for both underground and indoor installations. The internally ribbed surface minimizes friction during the pulling of optical fiber cables, facilitating installation work and reducing the risk of damage.

FiberGuard FGG duct is designed for micro-trenching, offering effective protection of delicate optical fibers against mechanical damage, moisture and temperature changes in the range of -25°C to 90°C. Thanks to the meter markings, installation is precise and convenient. The product is also suitable for surface installations (screed) and in hollow walls.

Construction and properties

FiberGuard FGG is a single-layer microduct with an inner diameter of 10 mm and an outer diameter of 12 mm. Made of medium-density polyethylene (HDPE), it provides good tensile strength and resistance to most chemicals. Importantly, the material is halogen-free, which increases safety in the event of a fire. The orange color makes it easier to identify the duct during installation work and subsequent network maintenance.

Available fiber-line accessories constitute a plug-in connection system for high-sensitivity optical fibers, ensuring reliable data transmission without interference. All elements are made of durable plastics, and a two-stage lock guarantees a durable immobilization of the microduct during assembly.
