Halogen-free power cable – safety and reliability
This halogen-free power cable, designated FLAMEBLOCKER N2XH-J 3x16 RE 1kV, is an advanced solution designed for power and control installations. Made with copper conductors with a cross-section of 16 mm², insulated with polyolefin, it provides safe and efficient power transmission in demanding conditions. This cable is particularly recommended for applications where protecting life and property in the event of a fire is a priority.
Construction and properties
The FLAMEBLOCKER N2XH-J cable features a solid construction designed for long-term reliability. Class 1 (solid) copper conductors are insulated with polyolefin, and the entire cable is surrounded by an outer sheath also made of polyolefin. This combination of materials provides high resistance to mechanical damage, weathering, and UV radiation. An important aspect is the absence of halogens in the insulation and outer sheath – in accordance with IEC 60754-2 and IEC 60754-1 standards, which minimizes the emission of toxic gases during combustion. This makes this cable meet stringent fire safety requirements.
This cable has three cores, and its approximate outer diameter is 16.3 mm. The cable is intended for underground installation as well as in dry and damp rooms. The permissible operating temperature of the current-carrying conductors is up to 90°C, and during a short circuit – up to 250°C. The minimum bending radius for fixed installations is 195.6 mm. Additionally, the cable has a protective conductor (yellow-green), which increases the level of safety. The reaction to fire class is B2ca according to EN 13501-6, which confirms its high fire protection properties.
