Thanks to the application of pressing technology with the Controlled Leak-Before-Press (LBP) function, installation becomes safer and more predictable. This system allows for visual verification of the joint quality – in case of insufficient pressing, excess sealant or air can be released in a controlled manner, signaling to the installer the need to correct the assembly before final pressing. The sealing relies on an O-ring made of ethylene-propylene-diene monomer rubber (EPDM), characterized by high aging resistance and maintained flexibility across a wide temperature range.

In practical installation, dimensions enabling precise adaptation to existing infrastructure are crucial. The fitting has a straight shape (straight connector), facilitating its installation in locations where there is no need to change the medium flow direction. The total length of the component is 31 mm, with a pressing sleeve depth for a 12 mm pipe of 17 mm and a working length of the threaded connection of 14 mm. These dimensions are standard for this type of fitting and guarantee joint stability without the risk of excessive pipe loading at the contact point.

The external BSPT-R (tapered) thread, compliant with ISO 7-1 and EN 10226-1 standards, eliminates the need for additional flat gaskets or Teflon tape in the threaded connection itself – tightness is ensured by the tapered thread form supported by the EPDM sealing ring. This is a significant advantage for installers, as it reduces installation time and minimizes the risk of human errors related to improper application of sealants.

For standard applications in central heating, domestic hot water, or industrial media with moderate temperatures, this material ensures years of trouble-free operation without the need for joint servicing. Installation requires the use of dedicated pressing heads for the KAN-therm steel system, guaranteeing consistent quality for every joint made.
