Crimped Fitting with Gas Thread
Steel fitting terminated on one side with a press-fit end for crimping onto a 15 mm diameter pipe, and on the other side with an internal BSPT-Rc thread (ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1) of size 1/2 inch. This component is designed for installation in heating and cooling systems where tightness and pressure resistance are required.
The material is galvanized steel Fe/Zn88 with a zinc coating thickness of 8–15 µm – it protects against corrosion without altering the mechanical characteristics of the joint. The internal O-ring seal made of high-temperature-resistant rubber ensures tightness without additional sealing.
Installation and Functionality
The connection is made using a "Press" type press tool with "M" profiling, which creates a three-point pressure on the seal – this guarantees its uniform deformation and hermeticity. The O-ring groove is designed so that its edge is located close to the end of the fitting – this allows for visual inspection of the joint condition: if, after crimping, the mark on the pipe (indicating insertion depth) is visible right at the edge of the fitting, the connection is correct.
The LBP (Leak Before Pressure) function acts as an early warning signal for installation errors – if the connection has not been properly crimped, a minor leak may occur under low pressure, providing an opportunity for correction before commissioning the system under full pressure.
The crimping length is 38 mm, and the pipe insertion depth should be exactly this – no more, no less. The threaded connection has a length of 23 mm and is ready for direct connection to valves, radiators, or other components with tapered threads.
Application and Operating Conditions
The fitting operates in pressure-tight systems – both heating and cooling. It works safely within a temperature range from -35°C to +135°C and at a maximum pressure of up to 16 bar. No open flame is required during installation – this eliminates fire risk and allows work in hard-to-reach areas or near flammable materials.
There is no need to use additional pastes or sealing tape on the thread – the O-ring seal and tapered profile guarantee tightness. The connection can be made quickly, without specialized knowledge of threads – only the appropriate press tool and adherence to the correct insertion depth are required.
