Slip coupling Steel - 108 1509080000
Sliding Coupling Made of Galvanized Steel for Press-Fit Systems
The Steel - 108 Sliding Coupling is a component of the KAN-therm Steel system, manufactured from carbon steel RSt 34-2 (1.0034 according to DIN EN 10305-3), galvanized with a zinc layer of 8–15 µm thickness. Using the same steel as in the pipes ensures material consistency throughout the entire installation, eliminating the risk of galvanic corrosion at connection points.
It is designed for use in systems with pipes of 108 mm diameter where installation flexibility is required. Thanks to its sliding function, it allows for easy length adjustment during installation – there is no need to cut the pipe precisely; simply slide the coupling into position and press-fit it.
Press Technology and Connection Safety
The connection is made by pressing – without welding, threading, or additional tools beyond a standard pressing tool. The four-point "M" type clamping system guarantees uniform and controlled pressure on the pipe surface, eliminating the risk of leaks caused by uneven clamping.
The internal O-Ring seal (EPDM) is factory-installed and ensures tightness. It is the same seal used in other system components, proven under pressure and temperature conditions typical for heating and water supply installations.
Why It Works in Practice?
- No need for perfectly precise pipe cutting – the sliding design compensates for installation errors.
- No welding required – eliminates the risk of damaging the galvanized coating due to heat, and speeds up installation.
- Uniform material – steel in both the pipe and the coupling means no electrochemical potential differences.
- Corrosion resistance – the 8–15 µm zinc layer protects against moisture and aggressive internal environments.
- Compliance with standards – all system components are designed according to requirements for metallic pressure systems.
No additional hardening, adhesive, or paste is required. Once pressed, the connection is ready for immediate use. When installing large diameters (such as 108 mm), this sliding function is crucial – it saves time and reduces the number of errors.
