Reduction between 18 mm and 12 mm pipes – press-fit connection with controlled leak

Fitting made of galvanized steel (Fe/Zn88), with a zinc layer thickness of 8–15 µm, designed for durable connections of copper or multilayer pipes. One side features a press sleeve (DN 10, Ø 12 mm), the other a push-in end (DN 15, Ø 18 mm). Both ends are prepared for pressing – no threading or welding required.

The EPDM (ethylene-propylene-diene) gasket ensures tightness even under temperature and pressure fluctuations. The additional LBP (Leak Before Pressure) function acts as an early leak detection system – if the press connection is not performed correctly, the fitting will begin to leak slightly before reaching full system pressure. This allows the installer to immediately detect the error before the system is commissioned.

Total length is 56 mm – a compact design that does not interfere with densely packed installations. The working lengths of both ends (9.6 mm and 9.4 mm) are adapted to standard outer pipe dimensions, eliminating the need for additional filing or undercutting.

No special tools are required beyond a press tool – installation is fast and repeatable. The steel construction is resistant to corrosion and mechanical loads, making it ideal for district heating, potable water, or cooling systems.

All parameters comply with the KAN-therm Steel press technology – there is no need to use other gaskets or pastes. The fitting works only in combination with pipes conforming to the pressing standard.
