Reduction for gas connections – reliability and easy installation
This copper gas reduction, manufactured from copper, is designed to connect pipes of different diameters in gas installations. It enables transition from a 22 mm pipe to an 18 mm pipe, ensuring a leak-tight and durable connection. It is part of the KAN-therm Copper Gas system, distinguished by safety, fast installation, and aesthetic finish.
Design and application
The fitting is made from copper CU-DHP (CW024A) and bronze 2.109, guaranteeing high corrosion resistance and long-term durability. It features an NBR O-ring seal that ensures leak-tightness within a temperature range of 20°C to 70°C and at pressures up to 5 bar. The reduction is intended for press-fit connections, eliminating the need for soldering and significantly accelerating the installation process. This makes it ideal for both new installations and retrofits.
Key features and benefits
- Durable materials: Copper CU-DHP and bronze 2.109 provide excellent corrosion resistance and long-term connection integrity.
- Leak-tightness: The NBR O-ring seal ensures reliable sealing across a wide range of temperatures and pressures.
- Fast installation: The "Press" technology eliminates soldering, reducing installation time significantly.
- Safety: No open flame during installation minimizes fire risk, especially critical during renovations.
- Versatility: Suitable for compressed air systems, inert gases, and vacuum installations (subject to consultation with KAN).
- Three-point compression: Ensures an exceptionally secure and stable connection.
- Minimal pressure loss: The "Press" technology minimizes pipe constriction, resulting in improved system efficiency.
Compatibility and standards
The reduction is compatible with copper pipes conforming to EN 1057 standard (R220/R250/R290). It is important to select the appropriate wall thickness (0.6 mm, 0.7 mm, 0.8 mm, 0.9 mm, 1.0 mm, 1.1 mm, or 1.2 mm) based on pipe diameter and tensile strength (R220, R250, or R290). Choosing the correct pipe affects the rigidity and strength of the entire installation.
