Universal electrical installation component

The Simon Basic single-pole switch is the foundation of every electrical installation – the simplest yet most essential component used for switching lighting circuits on and off. Thanks to a switching current of 16AX and a rated voltage of 250V~, it is suitable for both domestic lighting installations and circuits powering devices with higher current consumption.

Design and materials ensuring durability

The body, made of halogen-free PC plastic, guarantees not only resistance to weather conditions but also user safety – the absence of halogens eliminates the release of toxic substances in the event of a fire. The glossy surface finish in white (RAL 9003) complements modern interior arrangements perfectly.

The rocker switch mechanism ensures intuitive operation – the switch remains in the ON or OFF position after pressing the rocker. Screw terminals allow for a secure and durable connection of wires with various cross-sections, which is particularly important in installations with higher current loads.

Installation and system compatibility

Installation is performed flush-mounted at a depth of 24 mm, allowing the mechanism to be discreetly hidden within the installation box. Wide mounting claws ensure stable seating, while the metal frame mounting presses the entire unit against the wall, masking any installation imperfections.

The standard module size (75×75×41 mm) enables the creation of multi-gang sets using Simon Basic frames available in two lines:

• Standard - classic shapes (white, beige, inox steel, satin)
• Neos - modern design (15 colors)

To achieve an IP44 splash protection rating, dedicated IP44 NEOS or STANDARD frames must be used along with gaskets.

Operating parameters and safety

The 1-pole bistable connection type guarantees reliable operation for years of use. The mechanism does not require power to maintain the ON/OFF state – it operates purely mechanically.

The IP20/IP44 protection rating (depending on the frame used) protects against accidental contact with live parts and against the ingress of foreign objects. The built-in busbar cover minimizes the risk of electric shock even after the rocker is removed.

The optional possibility of installing LED illumination allows for locating the switch in the dark without the need for additional wiring – simply purchase a dedicated LED diode.

The module is sold without a frame – it must be selected individually from the wide color range of the Simon Basic series.
