The SKINTOP® ST-M M40x1,5 cable gland was designed as a reliable solution for the secure entry of cables and wires into electrical device enclosures in industrial environments with high requirements.
Materials and construction resistant to industrial conditions
The gland body is made of high-quality polyamide (PA), which is characterized by increased oil resistance, translating into higher reliability in operation under difficult industrial conditions. The material maintains its mechanical properties across a wide temperature range from -40°C to +100°C, in both static and dynamic conditions.
The M40x1,5 metric thread with a length of 10 mm is particularly suited for thick-walled enclosures, ensuring a stable connection even with large enclosure material thicknesses. The multiple, flattened trapezoidal thread allows for very stable mounting during rotation and quick closure.
Advanced sealing and IP protection
The gland provides optimal sealing, enabling the achievement of protection classes IP68 (up to 5 bar for 30 minutes) and IP69, making it ideal for use in environments exposed to dust, moisture, and pressurized water jets. The seal is made of chloroprene rubber (CR) and an O-ring made of nitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR), ensuring long-term tightness of the connection.
The clamping range is 16-28 mm, allowing for the handling of a wide range of cable outer diameters, while the variable design enables optimal fit for a specific application.
Strain relief and vibration resistance
The product is equipped with a permanent vibration protection system, which effectively prevents the cap nut from loosening even under intense mechanical vibrations. This system provides optimal cable strain relief, protecting it from mechanical damage and internal conductor breakage.
The design guarantees constant maintenance of the seal's contact pressure on the cable, eliminating the risk of micro-gaps that lead to the degradation of protective parameters.
Industrial and environmental applications
The gland finds wide application in machine and equipment manufacturing, photovoltaic technology, industrial automation, offshore platforms, and shipyards. The black version (RAL 9005) is suitable for outdoor use thanks to the natural UV resistance of the polyamide material.
The product meets the requirements of the EN 50262 standard for the rapid assembly of metric plastic cable glands and holds the UL94 V2 certificate regarding material flammability.
