Application and functionality

The SKINDICHT® SM-PE PG 21 securing nut has been designed for mounting SKINTOP®/SKINDICHT® cable glands inside enclosures. It is particularly effective in thin-walled, threadless enclosures where only one through-hole can be made.

The product is essential for painted, anodized, and powder-coated enclosures. During tightening, the raised edges of the nut cut through the insulating layer, guaranteeing optimal electrical contact. This solution ensures effective grounding — a key aspect in EMC applications.

It works perfectly with SKINTOP® MS-SC and SKINTOP® BRUSH grounding glands, creating a complete system for protection against electromagnetic interference.

Construction and materials

The nut is made of nickel-plated brass, providing excellent corrosion resistance and long-term durability. The hexagonal shape allows for easy installation using standard tools, and the 37 mm width across flats guarantees stable mounting.

The PG 21 thread with a pitch of 1.588 mm ensures a precise fit to the appropriate glands. The nickel-plated surface not only protects against corrosion but also maintains electrical properties throughout its service life.

Technical and environmental properties

The product operates in a wide temperature range from -60°C to +200°C, making it suitable for demanding industrial applications. The halogen-free construction meets the highest safety standards in environments with strict ecological requirements.
