Securing nut for cable glands

The SKINDICHT® SM-PE PG13.5 securing nut has been specifically designed for mounting SKINTOP® and SKINDICHT® cable glands inside electrical device enclosures. It is particularly effective for thin-walled, non-threaded enclosures that allow only a single entry hole.

Design and functionality

Made of high-quality nickel-plated brass, the nut features a hexagonal shape ensuring optimal tightening torque with a 23mm wrench. Its unique feature is the special cutting edges that pierce through the enclosure's insulation layer (painted, anodized, or powder-coated) during tightening, guaranteeing optimal electrical contact.

This function is crucial for applications requiring electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), as it ensures effective grounding and equalization of electrical potentials between the gland and the device enclosure.

Performance properties and resistance

The product exhibits exceptional resistance to extreme operating conditions in a temperature range from -60°C to +200°C, making it an ideal solution for both indoor and outdoor applications. The halogen-free construction guarantees safety even in fire conditions.

The nut is resistant to UV radiation, oils, and mechanical impact, maintaining its properties over a long service life. Surface nickel plating provides additional protection against corrosion and mechanical wear.
