Application and function

The SKINTOP® GMP-GL-M securing nut has been specifically designed for mounting cable glands in non-threaded holes. It is an essential component of cable sealing systems, ensuring a secure and durable connection in industrial applications. Thanks to the M40×1,5 metric thread, it works perfectly with SKINTOP® cable glands, creating a complete cable protection system.

The product is suitable for both stationary installations (within a temperature range of -40°C to +100°C) and applications requiring dynamic mounting (from -20°C to +100°C). The 50mm flat wrench width allows for easy installation while maintaining connection stability.

Construction and materials

The nut body is made of glass-fiber reinforced polyamide (PA), which guarantees high mechanical stability and resistance to structural damage. The material is halogen-free, oil-resistant, and UV-resistant, making it ideal for outdoor use and in industrial environments with increased chemical aggressiveness.

The hexagonal shape with a support surface for flat tools protects device housings from scratching during installation — this is particularly important for delicate metal or painted surfaces. The hexagon diagonal length of 55mm ensures optimal distribution of clamping forces.

Certification and standards

The nut has UL certification (File № E79903), which allows its use in the North American market — however, only in combination with SKINTOP® cable glands that also possess UL approval. The material is self-extinguishing according to the UL94 V-2 standard, confirming its resistance to flame spread.

The design complies with the EN 50262 standard for metric connection threads and DIN IEC 62444 for technical information regarding installation accessories. The standard RAL 7035 (light grey) color ensures an aesthetic appearance in most industrial applications.
