Application and design

The SKINTOP® GMP-GL-M securing nut was specifically designed for mounting SKINTOP® cable glands in unthreaded holes, particularly in thin-walled enclosures where only one through-hole is possible. Made of glass-fiber reinforced polyamide (PA), it ensures maximum mechanical stability while maintaining a lightweight design.

The hexagonal shape with a 50 mm wrench diameter allows for easy installation using tools, and a special bearing surface protects the enclosure from scratches during tightening. The M40 x 1,5 metric thread complies with the DIN EN 60423 standard.

Material properties and resistance

The polyamide material is characterized by good resistance to oils and chemicals, making it suitable for industrial applications. The black version (RAL 9005) is additionally resistant to UV radiation, allowing for use on the exterior of buildings.

The plastic is halogen-free and self-extinguishing according to the UL94 V-2 standard, providing additional safety during use. Glass-fiber reinforcement significantly improves the mechanical strength and dimensional stability of the nut.

Certification and operating conditions

The product has UL certification (File No. E79903), which allows for use in North America only in combination with SKINTOP® cable glands that also possess UL certification.

The operating temperature range is from -40°C to +100°C for static applications and from -20°C to +100°C for dynamic mounting, ensuring a wide spectrum of possible applications both indoors and outdoors.

The surface remains in a raw state (without additional coatings), and the design does not provide for an earth connection or protection against mechanical impact.
