Dual-contact monostable buttons for modular distribution boards

The CX³ modular button series from Legrand is a complete family of control elements for electrical distribution boards. Model LP432 (cat. no. 412916) features a double function in one module - the 1NO + 1NC configuration (one normally open + one normally closed contact) allows for the simultaneous closing and opening of two independent circuits with a single press. The button has red-green buttons: the red part performs the normally closed (NC) function, and the green part - the normally open (NO) function. This allows the installer to see at a glance which circuit is being activated.

The width of one module (17.8 mm) means space savings in the distribution board - the double model occupies the same amount of space as a standard single button. Mounting is performed on a DIN TH35 rail using a clip, allowing for quick and secure installation without additional tools.

Operating parameters and load capacity

A maximum switching current of 20 A at a voltage of 250 V AC classifies this button as a solution capable of direct control of circuits with significant loads. The AC-12 operating category includes the control of auxiliary and resistive circuits - a typical application in building installations, where the monostable button serves as a control logic element for components such as contactor coils or automation systems.

Screw terminals accept wires in the range of 0.75-4 mm², providing flexibility in cable cross-section selection depending on the circuit length and planned load. Power is supplied from the bottom - this is a standard solution that facilitates wiring within the distribution board.

Construction and operating conditions

The grey housing (RAL 7035) is halogen-free - an important feature for installations requiring low smoke emission in case of fire (evacuation standards). The IP20 protection rating means the device is intended for mounting inside distribution boards and enclosures - protected against finger contact and against solid objects larger than 12.5 mm.

The operating temperature range from -25°C to +70°C allows for use in both heated rooms and technical rooms without constant heating. The IK04 impact resistance ensures sufficient mechanical strength during typical installation.

A mounting depth of 44 mm is important information for distribution board designers - when planning cabinet depth, this dimension plus a reserve for wiring must be taken into account.

Compliance with standards and marking

The button meets the requirements of the IEC/EN 60669-1 standard, which defines general design conditions for installation control devices. Production is covered by European certificates confirming compliance with safety requirements - documentation is available in the manufacturer's databases as an OC/CB declaration of conformity and an NF certificate for the French market.

The housing features terminal markings, which eliminates the risk of incorrect wire connection during installation - particularly useful when multiple electricians are working in the distribution board or when measurements are conducted long after the initial installation. A built-in description window allows for circuit identification to be applied directly to the element - organizing the installation becomes clearer even with a large number of circuits.

The device is adapted for use with comb busbars - the structural openings allow them to pass freely through the module without additional modifications.
