Compact electrical installation status indicator

The Legrand L316 LED indicator light is a single-module device designed for mounting on a TH35 rail (DIN rail) in electrical switchboards. It is used for the optical signaling of the operating status of individual circuits or devices - e.g., power supply, ventilation activation, or alarm.

The light source is an LED with a power of 0,55 W, which translates to minimal energy consumption and practically failure-free operation for years of use. The color of the emitted light is a distinct orange - clearly visible even in brightly lit technical rooms.

The device is powered by an alternating voltage of 250 V AC (230 V~ according to the manufacturer's specification), typical for single-phase installations. The rated frequency range of 50-60 Hz ensures compatibility with both European and American networks.

The housing is finished in grey RAL 7035 - a standard for switchboard accessories, which is unobtrusive and blends well with most typical switchboards. The installation depth of 70 mm allows for installation even in shallower enclosures.

Protection and operating conditions

The IP40 protection rating means effective protection against finger access (diameter >1 mm) and against vertically falling water drops. The light is therefore suitable for dry indoor rooms - switchboards in residential buildings, offices, or production halls. However, it is not intended for humid environments or for the exterior of buildings.

The insulation voltage at the level of 500 V guarantees safe operation in typical low-voltage installations. The monoblock construction with a non-replaceable lamp eliminates the risk of incorrect light source selection and reduces the risk of failure resulting from mechanical play.

Application

Thanks to its universal single-module design, the L316 indicator light is used by both professional electricians designing industrial installations and for minor modernizations of residential switchboards. The orange signaling color allows it to be assigned a specific meaning (e.g., alarm status) - differentiating it from more popular green or red lights used as standard power indicators.
