The S 301 1P C 4 A overcurrent circuit breaker is a member of the DX³ series, designed to protect electrical installations against overloads and short circuits. This single-pole breaker is suitable for both residential and commercial applications. Its compact size (1 module width) enables efficient space utilization in distribution boards.

Characteristics and Application

The breaker features a Type C characteristic, making it ideal for circuits with inrush loads such as electric motors or transformers. This allows safe startup of these devices without unnecessary tripping. With a rated current of 4 A, it is well-suited for protecting low-power circuits—e.g., lighting, outlets in office rooms, or residential areas. The rated short-circuit breaking capacity (Icn) is 6 kA at 230 V, with Icu of 10 kA in accordance with IEC 60947-2, ensuring effective protection in the event of a short circuit.

Construction and Installation

The S 301 DX³ breaker has been designed with installer convenience in mind. It supports both flush and surface mounting and offers optional accessories. Screw terminals allow connection of single-core conductors from 1.5 mm² to 35 mm², or multi-core conductors from 1.5 mm² to 25 mm². The housing is constructed from high-quality materials, ensuring durability and resistance to mechanical damage. The IP20 protection rating guarantees protection against finger contact and solid objects larger than 12 mm. The design prevents simultaneous disconnection of the neutral conductor, enhancing operational safety.

The new terminal design facilitates optimal clamping torque, ensuring reliable electrical connections. Additionally, position indicators on the housing enable quick visual verification of the breaker’s status.
