Functionality and Technical Specifications

The S314 breaker, rated at 16 A with characteristic C, provides optimal protection for devices with variable loads such as motors and transformers. The C characteristic allows temporary current surges without unnecessary tripping, which is critical during the startup of equipment with high inrush currents. The rated short-circuit breaking capacity (Icn) is 10 kA at 400 V and 16 kA at 230 V, while the ultimate breaking capacity (Icu) reaches up to 32 kA at 230 V and 16 kA at 400 V—ensuring effective response in emergency situations. Designed for AC voltage, with a wide frequency range (50-60 Hz) and an insulation voltage (Ui) of 500 V.

Design and Installation

The breaker features four protected poles and a simultaneously disconnected neutral (N) pole, enhancing operational safety. With a width of 4 modules, it enables efficient use of space in distribution boards. Mounting is achieved via snap-in installation on standard DIN rail. Compatible with single-core cables from 1.5 to 35 mm² and multi-core cables from 1.5 to 25 mm². IP20 protection rating prevents accidental contact.
