Residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) P 304 4P 40 A 300 mA type A-S DX3 series 411800
Four-pole electric shock protection for three-phase installations
The P 304 residual current circuit breaker from the DX³ series is a professional solution providing comprehensive electric shock and fire protection for electrical installations. The Type A-S device detects both sinusoidal alternating residual currents and pulsating direct currents, making it a universal protection for modern installations with electronic loads.
Design and operating parameters
The four-pole design on a DIN rail with a width of 4 modules (70 mm) allows for installation in standard distribution boards. A built-in depth of 44 mm enables space savings in the distribution board, and a rated current of 40 A at a voltage of 400 V ensures adequate performance for larger three-phase loads.
The circuit breaker is characterized by high short-circuit strength of 10 kA and surge current resistance of 3 kA, which guarantees reliable operation even in difficult operating conditions. A rated insulation voltage of 500 V and an impulse withstand voltage of 4 kV ensure safe operation during network overvoltages.
Functionality, compatibility, and application
The device is equipped with a test button allowing for regular checking of the differential mechanism's correct operation. The gray (RAL 7035) switching lever ensures easy identification of the device status. The possibility of mechanical locking further increases safety during maintenance work.
A residual current of 300 mA of sensitivity class A provides effective protection against electric shock while maintaining selectivity of operation. Selective protection allows for hierarchical arrangement of protections in multi-stage installations, minimizing the scope of trips during a fault.
The circuit breaker works with the HX³ Optimal Energy Distribution System up to 125 A, enabling wireless connection to the electrical installation. Compatibility with auxiliary equipment includes auxiliary and signaling contacts, undervoltage and overvoltage releases, and remote actuators.
Connection flexibility includes single-core wires with a cross-section of 0.75-50 mm² and multi-core wires of 0.75-35 mm². The possibility of connection using comb or pin busbars simplifies installation in modular distribution boards.
The device operates in temperatures from -25°C to +60°C, allowing for installation in both heated and unheated rooms. The IP20 protection degree protects against contact with live parts and against access by solid objects with a diameter greater than 12.5 mm.
Compliance and standards
The circuit breaker meets the requirements of the EN 61008-1 standard and has a conventional short-circuit breaking capacity of 10000 A, confirming its high manufacturing quality and reliable operation. An environmental pollution degree of 2 allows for use in most typical building installations.
The device is part of the DX³ series available for rated currents from 16 to 100 A and residual currents from 10 to 500 mA, allowing for the selection of the optimal solution for a specific application.
