Residual current device P 304 4P 80 A 300 mA Type A DX3 series 411782
The DX³ series residual current devices (RCDs) are a critical component ensuring safety in electrical installations, protecting users and equipment from electric shock and fire. This four-pole P 304 model, rated at 80 A and with 300 mA sensitivity of Type A, is ideally suited for circuits requiring high-performance protection against electric shock.
Application and Functionality
A residual current device, commonly known as an "RCD" or "residual current breaker" (Pol. "różnicówka"), monitors the difference in current between live and neutral conductors. In the event of detected earth leakage—indicating insulation damage or direct contact with a live conductor—the device immediately disconnects the circuit. This model, thanks to its Type A characteristic, effectively responds to both alternating sinusoidal currents and pulsating direct currents, making it a universal solution for a wide range of applications. With a short-circuit capacity of 10 kA, it ensures reliable operation even under high transient overvoltages.
Construction and Installation
The device is designed for DIN rail mounting, simplifying and accelerating installation. Its compact width of only 4 modules enables efficient use of space in distribution boards. The robust construction features a mechanical lock that prevents accidental tripping. The terminal accepts single-core conductors up to 50 mm² and multi-core conductors up to 35 mm², ensuring compatibility with various cable types used in electrical installations. The enclosure has an IP20 protection rating, protecting against finger contact and ingress of solid objects larger than 12.5 mm.
Compatibility and Additional Features
The DX³ series is compatible with the HX³ Optimal Power Distribution System up to 125 A, enabling wireless integration into electrical systems. Expandable with auxiliary and signaling contacts, as well as overvoltage and undervoltage release units, the device can be customized to meet specific installation requirements. It operates reliably in ambient temperatures ranging from -25°C to 60°C, ensuring performance even under harsh environmental conditions. The rated insulation voltage (Ui) is 500 V, and the rated impulse withstand voltage (Uimp) is 4 kV.
