Electrical socket with grounding for everyday use

The 2P+Z socket with shutter by Legrand is a fundamental element of electrical installation accessories in an aluminum color, designed for flush mounting in standard installation boxes. Two phase pins and one round grounding pin allow for the safe connection of most household appliances - from white goods to power tools. A maximum rated current of 16 A at a voltage of 250 V~ ensures the socket can handle typical loads encountered in apartments and offices.

Construction and In'Matic mechanism

The manufacturer has equipped the socket with the In'Matic mechanism, which significantly facilitates installation. The self-clamping (automatic) terminal allows for the connection of wires with a cross-section up to 2,5 mm² without the need to tighten screws - simply insert the core into the hole, and the spring mechanism will lock it automatically. This accelerates assembly work and eliminates the risk of poor contact.

The housing is made of thermoplastic, which is halogen-free - in the event of a fire, it does not emit toxic halogen gases, which is important for the fire safety of the building. The surface is lacquered and glossy, in an aluminum color (RAL 7040). The dimensions of the accessory are 74,7 × 74,7 × 39,6 mm, and the installation depth is 29 mm.

Protections and durability

Shutters in the socket openings make accidental contact with live terminals difficult - the mechanism only opens when pressed by the plug housing. Additionally, the socket is equipped with a child safety lock (special shutters requiring the simultaneous pressing of two holes), which minimizes the risk of electric shock in households with small children.

The loop through function allows for easy expansion of the installation - a subsequent socket or circuit can be connected in parallel without an additional junction box.

Double claw anchoring and their reinforced construction provide better resistance to being pulled out of the wall than standard solutions. Impact resistance at the IK04 level means protection against impacts with energy up to 0.5 J - sufficient for everyday use.

Compatibility with the VALENA LIFE series

The socket is part of the VALENA LIFE system, which includes over 150 different electrical installation functions - from simple switches to multimedia sockets and smart home control (although this specific socket is not compatible with Alexa, Google Home, or Apple HomeKit systems). The series offers a rich color palette of frames and central plates, allowing for consistent arrangements tailored to the interior design.

For correct installation, a VALENA LIFE multi-gang frame is required - available in various configurations (single, double, triple, etc.) and colors. The central plate is part of the accessory - there is no need to purchase it separately.
