This is an RJ45 category 5E socket designed for computer network installations. It allows you to connect devices such as computers, printers, or routers to the Ethernet network, providing a stable and fast internet connection. Manufactured by the renowned Legrand in the Suno series, it combines functionality and modern design.
The socket has an angled outlet direction, which facilitates cable routing and improves the aesthetics of the installation. Flush-mounting ensures a discreet appearance, and the black color of the housing allows it to be matched to various interior arrangements. Made of mass-colored plastic, which guarantees color durability and abrasion resistance – no painting required.
Functionality and installation
The socket mechanism uses IDC knife-disconnect terminals to connect wires, ensuring a secure and durable connection. The construction is based on a basic element with a central protective plate. The width of the socket is 72.5 mm, the height is 72.7 mm, and the depth is 42.29 mm. The IP20 degree of protection provides basic protection against touch and contamination.
Installation is done with screws or claws (depending on the flush-mount box). The socket is compatible with standard flush-mount boxes and requires an additional frame (available separately) for a complete look. Color coding facilitates the identification of sockets in the network installation.
Safety and compliance
The socket does not have dust protection or housing shielding, which is typical for solutions designed for standard internal installations. It does not contain an end resistor or a separate cable grip relief. It meets the category 5E standard, guaranteeing adequate data transmission quality for most home and office applications. The lack of shielding of the sockets and grounding connections does not affect its operation in typical conditions of use, but it is worth considering when designing more demanding network installations.
