Two-pole disconnector for electrical panels

The FR 300 series disconnector switches are essential equipment for modern electrical switchboards - both in residential buildings, public utility facilities, and industrial installations. Their main task is to create a visible, reliable insulating gap, which enables safe maintenance, service, and repair work by completely disconnecting the power supply.

The FR 302 model with a rated current of 100 A serves as a main installation switch as well as a safety switch - meaning an element responsible for cutting off the circuit in emergency situations requiring rapid operator intervention.

Construction and installation in the switchboard

The two-pole enclosure occupies 2 DIN rail modules (approx. 35 mm width), allowing for compact mounting even in small residential switchboards. The device is permanently mounted - it is not designed for floor or 4-hole panel mounting - but is perfectly suited for installation inside switch cabinets on a standard TH35 bracket (EN 60715 top-hat rail).

The grey switching lever provides ergonomic and intuitive control - its position clearly informs about the circuit status. The built-in locking mechanism allows the disconnector to be locked in the OFF position using a padlock or lock - an important function during service work when it is necessary to exclude accidental switching by unauthorized persons.

Wire connection is performed via screw terminals, which ensure a durable and stable electrical contact. The disconnector also accepts comb or pin busbars, which accelerates and simplifies the installation process in larger projects.

Operating parameters and load capacity

The maximum operating voltage is 400 V AC, allowing for use in standard three-phase networks. The continuous current of 100 A determines the device's suitability for medium and high-load circuits - typically in main building switchboards or for powering industrial equipment.

Short-circuit strength reaches 10 kA (with appropriate upstream protection), and the rated conditional short-circuit current Iq is 4500 A. The AC-23A utilization category according to IEC 60947-3 (AC-22A for higher currents) confirms the ability to switch motors and other inductive loads on and off.

The IP20 protection rating protects against finger contact and solid objects larger than 12.5 mm - this is standard for devices mounted inside switchgear enclosures. The operating temperature range from -25°C to +70°C allows for use in both heated rooms and locations exposed to temperature fluctuations.

Standards, certificates, and approvals

The disconnector meets the requirements of the EN 60947-3 standard, which defines industrial switching devices. Production carried out in France is confirmed by European OC/CB certificates and national approvals: German VDE, French NF (including NF C 15-100 for building electrical installations), and the CE declaration of conformity.

The device can be equipped with DX³ auxiliary signaling contacts, which inform about the current state of the contacts - useful in building automation systems or where the disconnection status must be monitored remotely.
