Safety and isolation transformer for demanding installations

The 160 VA power transformer combines the functions of a safety and isolation transformer, providing protection for secondary circuits while maintaining high installation flexibility. Thanks to its dual function, it eliminates the need for two separate devices.

Construction and electrical parameters

The device offers six primary voltages ranging from 215V to 415V, allowing adaptation to various power systems. The 12V and 24V secondary voltages enable the powering of a wide range of receivers - from control systems to low-voltage lighting. A relative short-circuit voltage of 7.4% guarantees stable operation under varying loads.

Insulation class B according to IEC 85 ensures long-term reliability at temperatures up to 130°C. The compact design with dimensions of 94×112×113 mm fits into standard distribution boards, and the modular construction allows for mounting on a DIN35mm rail.

Safety and regulatory compliance

The transformer meets European standard requirements as a Class II safety device, eliminating the need for additional grounding of secondary circuits. The IP2X protection rating protects against accidental contact with live parts, and the IK04 impact resistance ensures durability in difficult installation conditions.

The UL recogn cULus-20141211-E177328 certificate confirms compliance with international safety standards, enabling use in industrial and commercial applications.

Practical applications and operational benefits

Due to its voltage flexibility, the transformer is used in building distribution boards and industrial automation systems. The ability to choose between 12V/24V secondary voltages eliminates the need for additional converters.

The combination of safety and galvanic isolation functions simplifies installation - one transformer replaces two separate devices, reducing costs and saving space in the distribution board. Being designed as a non-current-limiting transformer (without short-circuit protection), the use of additional overcurrent protection on the secondary side is required.

Standard screw connections allow for quick installation by a trained installer, and clear terminal markings minimize the risk of incorrect connection. Parasitic current filtration improves the power quality for receivers sensitive to electromagnetic interference.

The set includes two coupling rails and an insulated bridge for 0V/Earth connection, which accelerates the installation process and ensures correct configuration of parallel circuits at higher power levels.
