The 044212 transformer is a compact single-phase device with a power of 63 VA, specifically designed for industrial applications requiring a high level of safety. Thanks to its design as a safety and isolation transformer, it provides galvanic separation of the primary and secondary circuits and steps down the voltage from the 215-415V range to a constant 24V AC.
Electrical parameters and power flexibility
The device offers six different primary voltages: 215V, 230V, 245V, 385V, 400V, and 415V with a tolerance of ±15%, allowing for optimal adaptation to actual grid conditions. The secondary voltage remains stable at 24V AC, ideal for most control applications. A relative short-circuit voltage of 9.09% guarantees good voltage stabilization during load changes.
The apparent power of 63 VA according to IEC and CSA standards provides sufficient capacity for typical control circuits. Additionally, the device can operate with an allowable transient power of 88 VA at a power factor cos φ = 0.5, enabling it to handle short-term load surges typical of electric drives.
Mechanical design and operating conditions
The transformer, with dimensions of 94×85×113mm, is designed for mounting on a standard DIN rail (modular version), which significantly simplifies installation in industrial control panels. The IP2X protection rating and IK04 mechanical impact resistance provide basic protection against accidental contact with live parts and minor mechanical damage.
The insulation class of the material according to the IEC 85 standard is class B, which means a maximum winding operating temperature of up to 130°C. In practice, the manufacturer has specified the maximum operating temperature of the device at 50°C, ensuring a large thermal safety margin.
Safety and regulatory compliance
As a safety transformer, the device meets the highest standards of protection against electric shock. The insulation between the primary and secondary windings is as high as 4510V, guaranteeing effective galvanic separation of high and low voltage circuits. Live parts are protected by a special cover, which further increases the level of operational safety.
The product holds UL recognition (cULus) certificates and is supplied with complete technical documentation in Polish, English, and French. Recommended protection consists of a gG-type fuse or a Type C circuit breaker, selected appropriately for the primary current.
Electrical connections are made using robust screw terminals, which allow for secure fastening of conductors with various cross-sections. The terminals are appropriately marked according to standards, facilitating correct installation by technical personnel.
