Professional Isolation Transformer for Distribution Boards

Transformer with filter 230/400V → 115/230V with power rating 160 VA is a universal solution for voltage adaptation and safe separation of circuits in industrial installations and automation. Model 044264 by Legrand works both as a control transformer and a device providing galvanic isolation between circuits.

Construction and Technical Specifications

The transformer is designed as an isolation (insulation) transformer according to IEC EN 61558 standards, guaranteeing safe isolation between primary and secondary windings. Insulation class B according to IEC 85 ensures resistance to temperatures up to 130°C, and protection degree IP2X protects against contact with live parts.

The device offers flexible power supply with 6 primary voltage ranges: 215V, 230V (±15%), 245V, 385V, 400V and 415V. Secondary voltages are available in two variants: 115V or 230V, allowing adaptation to different types of loads.

Compact construction with dimensions 94×112×113 mm enables mounting on a standard DIN rail in distribution boards. Connections are made through screw terminals with clear polarity marking, simplifying installation and maintenance.

Application in Automation and Control

The transformer was specifically designed for voltage adaptation in case of faults and filtering of electromagnetic interference in control systems. As an isolation transformer, it provides galvanic isolation between the supply circuit and loads, protecting sensitive electronics from overvoltages.

It is supplied with 2 coupling bars, enabling easy connection of secondary windings in parallel or series. The relative short-circuit impedance of 6.94% guarantees stable operation under variable loads.

The transformer is designed for implementing devices compliant with industrial automation standards (EN 61131-2), machinery (EN 60204-1) and distribution boards (EN 61439-1). IK04 mechanical impact resistance class provides protection against impacts up to practical use levels.

Mounting capability on a symmetric rail up to 250 VA eliminates the need for additional mounting elements in most distribution board applications. Interference filtering reduces the impact of harmonics and overvoltages on the operation of sensitive control electronics.

The apparent power value of 160 VA according to IEC/CSA, or 140 VA according to UL, provides adequate reserve for typical control applications while meeting the requirements of all major global markets.
