Signal contact for LS Electric molded case circuit breakers
The AX series TD/TS auxiliary contact is a reliable component of the LS Electric circuit breaker status signaling system. The device precisely reflects the position of the main contacts of the apparatus - informing of the "on" or "off" state, providing key data to monitoring and control systems for electrical installations.
Functionality and application
The signal contact operates independently of the reason for the circuit breaker state change - whether it occurs due to manual operation, a short circuit, overload, current leakage, or the activation of an independent trip unit. This versatility makes the device suitable for both standard industrial applications and systems requiring continuous monitoring of apparatus status.
Compatibility includes a wide range of LS Electric TD and TS series molded case circuit breakers with rated currents from 100A to 800A, making it a universal solution for most medium and large power installations.
Electrical and design parameters
The device is equipped with one changeover contact (1 NO + 1 NC), which enables the transmission of a signal regarding the change in the apparatus state. The design allows for operation with both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC). For alternating current, the device provides a load capacity of 2A at 240V AC and 3A at 220V AC. In the case of direct current, the maximum current is 0.2A at 240V DC. The rated voltage of the device is 220V, ensuring compatibility with standard signaling systems.
Mounting and safety
The contact is mounted directly on the apparatus body using dedicated mounts, which guarantees a stable mechanical and electrical connection. Electrical connections are made via screw terminals, ensuring a secure and durable connection of the wires.
The device has an IP20 protection rating, protecting against accidental contact with live parts and against the entry of objects larger than 12mm. Although it is not resistant to water or dust, this level of protection is sufficient for typical indoor applications in switchboards.
Advantages of use
The signal contact eliminates the need for additional sensors to monitor the circuit breaker state - all information comes directly from the apparatus mechanism. This ensures that the signaling system receives reliable data about the actual state of the device protecting the installation.
The versatility of operation regardless of the cause of the state change makes it an indispensable element in alarm and automatic systems, where immediate information about every apparatus intervention is crucial - whether planned (manual switching off) or emergency (protection trip).
