EMC Input Filter – Protection and Reliability for Inverters
The EMC input filter FLD 3055 is a key component ensuring the correct operation and long life of inverters up to 22kW. Its task is to eliminate interference generated by the inverter, which can negatively affect the power grid and other devices. The Class B filter is designed for use in residential and industrial environments where limiting electromagnetic interference emissions is required.
Application and Benefits
EMC filters, and especially the FLD series, are essential wherever inverters are used. They protect both the inverter itself from interference from the grid and the grid from interference generated by the device. Installing the FLD filter provides:
- Compliance with EMC standards: minimizes the risk of problems with the operation of other devices and meets the requirements for electromagnetic compatibility.
- Extended inverter life: reducing interference reduces the load on the electronic components of the inverter, which translates to its reliability and durability.
- Stable system operation: the filter provides a clean power signal, which translates to stable operation of the entire drive or industrial system.
- Simple installation: compact dimensions and ease of installation allow for quick implementation of the filter in existing installations.
Technical characteristics and construction
FLD filters are characterized by high attenuation of both symmetrical and asymmetrical interference components. They are adapted to work in three-phase networks 3x380V to 480V with a frequency of 60Hz. The filter design provides good heat dissipation, and the IP20 protection class guarantees safe use under normal operating conditions. The expected operating life of the filter is as long as 25 years, making it an investment for years to come. The filter is resistant to short-term overloads – permissible overload is 1.5 times the rated current for 1 minute per hour and 4 times during switching. These filters can operate in a wide temperature range: from -25°C to +85°C. They are dedicated to power cables up to 50m long.
