IS7 Drive – A Versatile Solution for Industry

The IS7 drive is an advanced, professional frequency inverter designed for a wide range of industrial applications. The device is characterized by its high functionality and precision, making it an ideal choice for demanding applications and responsible control systems. Available in power ratings from 0.75 kW to 375 kW, it offers flexibility and the ability to adapt to specific needs.

Construction and Control Capabilities

The IS7 drive features a robust construction and high-quality workmanship. It has a built-in EMC filter of class C3 (up to 22kW) and a DC choke, ensuring stable operation and minimizing interference. It supports vector control with constant and variable torque, enabling precise control of motor speed and torque. Additionally, it offers the ability to cooperate with an encoder, synchronization, and simple positioning. The lack of a standard keyboard does not limit functionality – the drive can be programmed using the “DriveView” software via the RS-485 or Ethernet port (using an optional communication card).

Expandability and Specialized Applications

One of the key advantages of the IS7 drive is its expandability. Numerous expansion cards are available, such as PLC cards, encoder cards, additional input/output cards, and communication cards (Profibus-DP, Ethernet, LonWorks, DeviceNet, CanOpen, R-Net, CC-Link, profinet), which allow the device to be adapted to specific application requirements. Specialized software versions are also offered:

• WEB IS7: dedicated to winders, unwinders and rewinders with automatic spool change and medium cutting/splicing functions.
• IS7 1000Hz: designed for high-speed drives with U/f control.
• Marine version DNV: available on special order for marine applications.

Thanks to this, the IS7 drive performs well in a variety of applications – from water and wastewater systems and ventilation (with firemode function), to pumps (cascade and sequential control with PID regulation and energy saving function) and HVAC (IP54 version available up to 22kW). The ability to unify drive units in production plants translates into ease of spare parts warehouse construction and the reliability of service from a single supplier.

The IS7 drive has been designed with safety and reliability in mind. It features double-coated printed circuit boards ensuring stability in harsh environmental conditions and oversized power modules (IGBT) and capacitors resistant to high overloads (150% In for 60 seconds, 200% In for 3 seconds). A built-in braking module (up to 22kW) further increases system safety. A wide range of protection functions guarantees reliable operation of the device in various working conditions.
