The battery-powered chainsaw with a 40 cm guide bar is designed for light gardening and household tasks, such as pruning branches or cutting firewood. Thanks to the brushless DC (BLDC) motor, the tool offers higher torque while maintaining a lower chain speed of 7.7 m/s. This configuration not only increases cutting efficiency but also improves control over the tool, which is crucial when working in challenging conditions or with denser material.

The device features low vibration levels (1.5 m/s²) and zero exhaust emissions, significantly enhancing operator comfort during extended work sessions. The absence of a power cord and low noise level (97 dB(A) sound power) make the chainsaw an ideal choice for work near residential buildings or during early morning and evening hours.

Safety and Ease of Use

User safety is a priority in the design of this model. The chainsaw is equipped with an anti-kickback function and a quick electric brake that instantly stops the chain in the event of a dangerous kickback. This system operates reliably, protecting the operator from potential injuries. Additionally, the battery protection circuit automatically safeguards the power source against overload, over-discharge, and overheating, extending the lifespan of the entire set.

The device's design facilitates daily operation through tool-free chain replacement and tensioning, allowing for quick adjustments without the need for additional wrenches. The large oil filler cap enables fast and clean filling of the 0.15 L lubricant tank. The XPT technology ensures enhanced resistance to dust and moisture, increasing the tool's reliability in various weather conditions.

Important: The device is compatible only with batteries equipped with electronics. It is not compatible with batteries without electronics or older models such as BL1815(N) or BL1820(B).

Application and Complete Starter Kit

The DUC407RTX3 chainsaw is dedicated to light work around the home. With a 40 cm (16 inch) guide bar and a 3/8" chain pitch, the tool handles most typical gardening tasks. The machine's weight with the battery is approximately 4.2–4.4 kg, making it light enough for precise work overhead or in hard-to-reach areas.

The kit supplied by the manufacturer includes everything necessary to start working immediately after unboxing: the MAKITA DUC407RTX3 chainsaw, a 5.0 Ah (18 V) Li-Ion battery (BL1850B), a fast charger (DC18RC), a 40 cm guide bar with a matching cutting chain, and a cutting unit cover for safe transport. A chain file with a holder is also included.

Thanks to compatibility with the MAKITA 18 V/36 V battery system, users can utilize the same battery set for other MAKITA power tools, optimizing investment costs and simplifying logistics on the construction site or in the garden. The tool operates at a nominal voltage of 18 V and has external dimensions of approximately 704 x 214 x 234 mm.
