Mobility and Precision in Trimming Tall Plantings

Working with hedges at height often requires a ladder or complex body positions, increasing the risk of accidents and operator fatigue. This tool solves this problem, allowing trimming of both lower and upper sections of shrubs directly from ground level. With a total length of 211.5 cm and a lightweight construction (weight ranges between 3.9–4.3 kg depending on the battery used), the operator maintains full control even during prolonged use. The LXT 18 V system ensures compatibility with a wide range of lithium-ion batteries with capacities from 1.5 Ah to 6.0 Ah, enabling flexible adaptation of runtime to the specific task—for example, a quick trim using a smaller cell or a full gardening session with a 6.0 Ah battery providing approximately 60 minutes of continuous operation.

Adaptability of the Cutting Head and Cutting Performance

A key factor influencing the final appearance of the garden is the ability to precisely adjust the blade angle. The cutting head features 6-step angle adjustment: from +45° (upward), through the neutral position 0°, down to -70° (downward), including intermediate steps (22.5° and -22.5°). This range allows perfect adaptation to the hedge shape without requiring the operator to change body position. Additionally, the head can be rotated by 180°, significantly facilitating transport of the tool in a vehicle and storage in spaces with limited room. The 50 cm long blade is designed to ensure smooth cutting of branches up to 23.5 mm in diameter. The new blade shape and their double cutting edge minimize the risk of plant material jamming.

Thanks to the three-step electronic control of stroke frequency, the operator can precisely select the working speed: from gentle shaping of young shoots (2000 strokes/min), through standard trimming (3600 strokes/min), up to rapid removal of thicker branches at maximum speed (4400 strokes/min). In case of branch jamming in the blades, the reverse function allows quick release without manually separating the knives. For safety, a tip guard is included to prevent kickback, along with a main switch featuring automatic shut-off upon releasing the lever. The set includes a shoulder strap (model 125516-5), which transfers part of the tool's weight to the operator's shoulder, reducing wrist strain during overhead work. Please note that the tool is sold as "tool only"—it does not include a battery or charger; some older battery models without electronics (e.g., BL1811G) are also incompatible.
