This tool has been designed for situations where heavy, petrol-powered units are cumbersome, while manual saws lack sufficient cutting power. With a bare body weight of just 1.1 kg, the device is ideal for professionals working from ladders or poles, as well as for amateur gardeners shaping shrubs and young trees in orchards. The total weight of the set with a battery (e.g., 5.0 Ah) does not exceed 2.0 kg, significantly reducing operator fatigue during extended pruning sessions.

The brushless motor (BLDC) delivers 320 W of power, enabling a chain speed of 8.0 m/s. This performance is sufficient for efficiently cutting branches up to 15 cm in diameter (guide bar length), and even slightly larger ones (up to 161 mm). Notably, the application of XPT technology enhances the tool's resistance to dust and moisture, which is crucial when working in challenging garden conditions. The movable guide bar cover opens gradually upon contact with wood, improving safety and facilitating better control over the cutting process.

Safety and Ergonomics in Practice

The chainsaw's design accounts for the specifics of overhead work or tasks in hard-to-reach areas. The rubberized, soft grip ensures a secure hold even during one-handed operation or while wearing gardening gloves. A key safety feature is the operator's hand guard, along with the aforementioned movable cutting unit cover. The chain oil reservoir has a capacity of 55 ml, and its level can be easily checked through a dedicated viewing window—this prevents guide bar dry-running and extends chain life.

Vibrations are effectively dampened thanks to a three-axis vibration plate, resulting in a vibration level of 4.8 m/s² during wood cutting. For comparison, the noise level is only 3 dB(A) above the base standard (sound pressure level of 79 dB(A)), making operation significantly more comfortable for the ears compared to traditional petrol-powered tools.

Application and LXT System Compatibility

The device is sold as a "Body" (solo) version, i.e., without battery and charger. It operates at 18 V and is compatible with the entire MAKITA LXT Li-ion battery system, with capacities ranging from 1.5 Ah to 6.0 Ah. However, please note the limitations: the tool is not compatible with the oldest battery models lacking electronics (BL181xG series) nor with the 1.3 Ah BL1815 battery—it requires a newer generation of cells for proper operation of the BLDC motor control electronics.

The manufacturer supplies the device with all essential equipment to begin work: it includes a 15 cm star-type guide bar (model 1912F1-4), a matching high-quality cutting chain with a pitch of 0.325" and a groove width of 1.1 mm (comprising 32 drive links), a cutting unit cover, and a round file with a handle for sharpening.

Thanks to its compact dimensions (459 x 90 x 249 mm), the chainsaw fits into most toolboxes and takes up minimal space in a delivery van or garage. It is a versatile solution—from pruning branches and clearing fruit trees to light carpentry tasks requiring precise cutting of dry or green wood.
