Battery-powered hedge trimmers with a 500 mm blade length are tools that eliminate the limitations imposed by power cords, allowing free movement in every corner of the garden. This model, powered by the 18 V LXT system, offers performance comparable to corded devices but without the need for constant connection to an outlet. Thanks to the use of a 3.0 Ah Li-Ion battery, the user gains approximately 60 minutes of continuous operation on a single charge, which in practice means the ability to trim a medium-sized hedge without interruptions. The lightweight construction, weighing only 3 kg, significantly reduces hand fatigue during prolonged work, which is crucial both for maintaining small flower beds and shaping tall green hedges.

Cutting Efficiency and Resistance to External Conditions

The heart of this device is a brushless motor driving the blades at a speed of 2700 strokes per minute. Such a frequency enables fast and clean cutting of branches up to 15 mm in diameter. A tooth spacing of 28 mm provides adequate space for removed plant fragments, preventing blade clogging during work in dense hedges. An important structural element is the XPT (Xtreme Protection Technology) technology, which increases the tool's resistance to dust and moisture. Thanks to this, the trimmers can be safely used even on rainy days or in areas abundant with leaf dust, without losing mechanical efficiency. The electric brake ensures immediate blade stop after releasing the trigger, drastically reducing reaction time in emergency situations and increasing operator safety.

Ergonomics and Safety of Use

Working comfort is ensured by the anti-vibration body structure and ergonomically shaped handles. The large main trigger and front lever enable intuitive one-handed or two-handed operation depending on the required pressure. The anti-restart function protects against accidental device startup after a work break or battery replacement – the trimmers will not start on their own after re-pressing the trigger without prior activation of the locking mechanism. The built-in charge indicator allows real-time assessment of remaining battery energy, helping to plan charging time before starting the next stage of work. The protective circuit protects the cell from overload, excessive discharge, and overheating, which directly translates to extended lifespan of the entire power set.

The set includes a complete starter package: the DUH507SF trimmers themselves, one 3.0 Ah Li-Ion battery, and the charger necessary for energy regeneration. The tool is compatible with all 18 V LXT series batteries (except G-type models and BL1815), allowing integration with the existing Makita machine fleet. The blade guard protects the cutting edges during transport and storage, and also protects the user from accidental cuts when placing the tool in a car trunk or garden cabinet.
