Reliable PVC-C System Connection
The PVC-C FlowGuard® system component provides a reliable connection between pipes and threaded fittings. Made of chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), it ensures exceptional durability estimated at a minimum of 50 years of service, making it an ideal choice for both new installations and the modernization of existing systems.
The CPVC material is characterized by physiological and microbiological inertness, making it safe for contact with potable water. At the same time, it exhibits resistance to scale buildup and various contaminants, resulting in long-term system performance without the need for frequent maintenance.
Technical properties and operating parameters
The fitting operates at temperatures up to 80°C (with the possibility of short-term increases up to 95°C in emergency situations) at a working pressure of 2,76 MPa at +23°C. The design ensures full flow through the connection and reduces flow resistance points due to the smoothness of the internal surface.
The CTS (Copper Tube Size) dimensioning system allows for precise fitting to standard copper pipes, and an outer diameter of 15,9 mm guarantees compatibility with typical 1/2" threaded fittings.
Operational and installation advantages
The connection of elements is performed using the aggressive solvent welding method (so-called "cold welding"), which eliminates the need for specialized tools or electricity. The connection time does not exceed one minute, significantly accelerating installation work.
CPVC provides natural thermal insulation, limiting condensation on cold water pipelines and allowing for the elimination or significant reduction of thermal insulation thickness. Additionally, the material exhibits excellent fire-resistant properties - it does not support combustion.
Applications and system compatibility
The component finds wide application in hot and cold water installations, air conditioning systems, and industrial applications requiring resistance to various chemical compounds. The rigid construction facilitates routing installation paths and the modernization of existing metal systems.
The internal thread enables direct connection to threaded fittings, and the high internal smoothness of the pipes reduces flow resistance, allowing for the selection of smaller diameters while maintaining the hydraulic efficiency of the system.
