A pressure pipe made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) is a proven element of water supply, industrial and condensate drainage systems. Properties and application

NIBCO PVC-U pipes are manufactured in an inch system, corresponding to the dimensions of steel pipes (IPS). They are available in two versions: American (Sch 40) and European (PN-EN 1452-2), offering a wide range of pressure classes – PN15, PN12 and PN9. This specific pipe, with an inner diameter of 29 mm, is perfect for cold water, air conditioning and industrial installations where resistance to aggressive media is required. In addition, the smooth inner surface minimizes flow resistance, and high thermal insulation reduces the risk of condensation and scale formation.

Installation and benefits

Installation of PVC-U pipes is simple and quick – it is done using aggressive adhesives (cold welding). It does not require specialized tools or skills, which translates into saving time and costs. The glued system ensures tight and durable connections. It is worth remembering the correct spacing of supports, which for a 1-inch pipe is about 1.5 meters at a temperature of 25°C. The lightweight construction of PVC-U pipes makes them easier to transport and install compared to traditional materials such as steel or copper.
