Ethernet and Modbus RS-485 Interface Converter
The ET-485 (24V) device is a microprocessor-based converter that enables data exchange between devices using Ethernet 10BASE-T and 100BASE-T networks and devices with an RS-485 interface forming a Modbus network. This allows for the integration of older Modbus systems with modern network infrastructure. The device acts as a Modbus server, forwarding requests from Ethernet clients to devices on the Modbus network and back.
The converter provides flexible configuration, including the ability to change the MAC address, static or dynamic IP address assignment, and access protection via password and IP address filtering. It supports various data exchange modes in Modbus RTU or ASCII network, with configurable parity control and transmission speed. This makes it compatible with a wide range of devices and industrial applications.
Features and capabilities
- Network integration: Enables connection of Modbus devices to an Ethernet network, opening the way for remote monitoring and control.
- Flexible configuration: Ability to adjust network parameters (IP address, MAC) and security (password, IP filter).
- Support for various Modbus modes: Compatibility with Modbus RTU and ASCII protocols, ensuring versatility of application.
- Monitoring and notifications: Ability to read parameters of connected devices, send SMS/e-mail notifications and archive data in the form of graphs.
- Remote access: Access to the device via the Internet through Ethernet, enabling remote control and diagnostics.
- High performance: Support for up to 247 Modbus devices simultaneously ensures system scalability.
The ET-485 (24V) converter finds application in industrial automation, building management systems (BMS), and applications requiring integration of older Modbus devices with modern Ethernet networks. Thanks to its functionality and reliability, it is an ideal solution for installers and end-users looking for an effective way to modernize existing systems or build new industrial applications. The device is mounted on a DIN rail, which facilitates its installation in electrical panels. LED signaling informs about the status of Ethernet and RS-485 connections and any device errors.
