This three-pole surge arrester, with a rated voltage of 900V DC, is a key element in protecting photovoltaic installations from the effects of lightning strikes and surges. Designed to work with lightning protection systems, it effectively protects sensitive components such as inverters and solar panels, ensuring their long-term and trouble-free operation. Protection class Type 1+2 guarantees comprehensive protection against both direct and indirect lightning strikes.
Design and installation – simplicity and functionality
The device is designed for mounting on a standard DIN TH-35 mm mounting rail, which facilitates its integration with existing electrical infrastructure. The compact size – only 3 modules – allows for efficient use of space in the distribution box. The arrester is supplied pre-assembled, which significantly reduces installation time and minimizes the risk of errors during connection. The maximum wire cross-section of 35 mm² (rigid) and 25 mm² (flexible) ensures compatibility with most wiring used in photovoltaic installations.
Safety and signaling – monitoring operating status
The arrester has optical indication of operation, which informs about the need to replace the insert after a surge occurs. Integrated overcurrent protection eliminates the need for additional protective elements. The protection level of 3 kV provides effective protection against damage caused by surges. The surge current level of 7 kA (10/350 µs) guarantees the device's resistance to intense discharges. It is important to remember about the maximum overcurrent protection up to 160A (both series and parallel), which affects the correct operation of the entire system.
