This three-phase Type 1+2 surge arrester, designed for photovoltaic systems, effectively protects against the effects of lightning strikes and overvoltages in the grid. It provides comprehensive protection for both the installation and connected devices. Its construction and parameters make it a reliable safety element in any PV system.
Safety and functionality
The V25-B+C 3PHFS900 surge arrester is characterized by a high level of protection of 3 kV, both for L-N and N-PE lines. Integrated backup protection and optical indication of operation facilitate quick identification of potential problems and minimize the risk of downtime. The surge current capacity of 7 kA (10/350 µs) guarantees an effective response to sudden voltage spikes. Thanks to the possibility of connecting wires with a cross-section of up to 35 mm², the arrester is compatible with most standard installations. Mounting is done on a TH-35 mm DIN rail, which simplifies and speeds up installation.
Application and compliance with standards
This arrester is ideal for use in photovoltaic systems with a lightning protection system. It meets the requirements for error resistance Y according to VDE 0100-712 (EN 50539-12) and provides overvoltage protection for potential equalization according to VDE 0100-443 (IEC 60364-4-44). Protection class Type 1+2 means that the device provides both initial protection against direct lightning strikes (Type 1) and indirect overvoltages (Type 2). The maximum voltage of the photovoltaic installation is 900V DC, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. Additionally, it has an optical indication of damage, which allows for a quick response in the event of a failure.
