This Ion Wallbox Basic Protect charging station is an ideal solution for both home and business installations. Designed for wall mounting, indoors or in protected outdoor locations, it offers convenience and safety when charging electric vehicles. Thanks to the ability to charge in Mode 3 (compliant with IEC 61851-1), it is compatible with a wide range of vehicles.

Functionality and application

The Wallbox Basic Protect supports single-phase, two-phase and three-phase charging, adapting to the available electrical infrastructure. It is designed to operate in TN and TT networks, which increases its versatility. Integrated temperature monitoring and DC fault current monitoring ensure safe and reliable operation of the device. Charging status information is displayed on a clear LED display.

The station is supplied with a 5-meter charging cable with a Type 2 plug and a cable holder, making everyday use easier. The possibility of power supply from the top or bottom provides flexibility during installation. The housing made of durable plastic guarantees durability and resistance to weather conditions (IP66) and mechanical damage (IK08).

Safety and protection

The Wallbox Basic Protect has a built-in overvoltage protection, which further protects both the device and the vehicle during charging. The integrated overvoltage protection protects against sudden voltage surges in the electrical network. In addition, the station is compatible with external load management systems (Modbus RTU via RS-485), allowing dynamic adjustment of the charging power to the current energy demand of the building or the availability of photovoltaic energy. A potential-free release contact allows integration with photovoltaic systems or other controllers controlling the load.
